The Abia State House of Assembly has refuted any plan whatsoever to indict the incumbent governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, from office.
Ifeanyi Uchendu, the deputy speaker of the house, announced this to the media after a meeting with the governor on Saturday at the governor’s lodge in Aba.
Uchendu added that the House has not even reconvened since the state elections, urging the general public to disregard the “rumor” spreading.
I just want to let you know that the rumor that the House of Assembly is preparing to impeach the governor is just that—a rumor, he said.

There is no such plan. The House hasn’t even reconvened as of right now. Because of the election, we recently took a vacation. We’re still debating when to meet again. I’m here to inform everyone that there are no such plans to remove the governor from office.
Uchendu said, “He has done well for us and the entire Abia State people,” adding that the residents of Abia State are pleased with the governor. He will depart peacefully regardless of when he leaves office because he is a peaceful man.
