Borno’s governor, Babagana Zulum, claims that Kashim Shettima’s election as the nation’s next vice president will ease the burden on his administration as Borno recovers from the insurgency.
At a Sallah luncheon for stakeholders attended by the vice-president-elect on Friday in Maiduguri, Mr. Zulum made the announcement.
The governor claimed that with the new vice president, Borno’s government and citizens would have a dependable brother and a teammate to rely on for assistance during the healing process.
“President Buhari has been griping that I am the only one going through hardship in Borno and that no one is helping me.
“By the grace of God, I have a brother and my boss with me who will support me and the government and people of Borno in the upcoming four years.
This will lessen our burden and ensure our advancement,” Mr. Zulum said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the state’s security organizations for their dedication to bringing the state’s situation back to normal and complete peace.
