The Enugu State government formally turned over the State Diagnostic Centre to the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, which manages the country’s sovereign wealth fund, on Tuesday.
During the launch of two of NSIA’s flagship companies, NSIA Advanced Medical Service Ltd and Equilease Systems Limited, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi handed over the centre to NSIA.
“The physical and mental well-being of the workforce in any state is a function of the quality of healthcare services available,” Ugwuanyi stated.
“The collaboration with NSIA to transform this facility with the promise of significantly improved equipment and services will go a long way towards contributing to the state’s healthcare security.” “As a result of this, our state will be one of the few in the country with world-class healthcare infrastructure and amenities,” he said.
Aminu Umar-Sadiq, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NSIA, praised the state government for signing the agreement that required the transfer.
“We have built a strong and successful portfolio of healthcare service delivery centres over the last five years.”

“The transfer of the Enugu facility for upgrade and rehabilitation is one step in our journey to make healthcare accessible and affordable to all Nigerians.” “This is one of 23 centres that will be upgraded for Oncology and Diagnostic services,” he stated.
He described MedServe and Equilease as transformative, market-disrupting companies that will provide a one-of-a-kind set of connected solutions to overcome gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare business.
