Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the general election of 2023, was present at the reception for newly elected and reelected governors held on Thursday in Abuja.
On Thursday night, he tweeted images from the event along with the statement, “This afternoon, I joined other party leaders at the welcome reception for newly elected and returning governors, as well as send-forth for outgoing governors of our great party, the #OfficialPDPNig.
“While congratulating the departing governors for flying the PDP flag with pride, I urge the incoming governors to set the standard for good governance in their respective states—as the PDP’s defining characteristic. -AA.”
Among those present were the governors of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, Taraba State’s Darius Ishaku, Adamawa State’s Ahmadu Fintiri, the former vice president Namadi Sambo, the former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, and the Acting Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara.
