On three different petitions that sought to overturn the results of the 2023 presidential election, the Presidential Election Petition Court provided a pre-hearing report on Tuesday.

The trial schedule was also presented by the court.

Justice Haruna Tsammani, the five-member panel’s chairman, read the pre-hearing report, which included the declaration of the court’s decision to combine all the petitions into a single case for hearing.

Tsammani then declared that the petition’s hearing would start on May 30th, 2023.

Additionally, he stated that the court must prepare for judgement following the adoption of written addresses on August 5, 2023.

When the petition from the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was called, this was made clear.

The legal proceedings are still ongoing.
