Members of the All Progressives Congress organised celebrations for Bola Tinubu’s inauguration on Monday in major towns throughout Osun State.
Our correspondent’s investigations in Ila, Iragbiji, Ikire, Iwo, Osogbo, and Ife revealed that APC members gathered at predetermined locations to watch Tinubu’s inauguration on television before holding the celebration.
Party members had gathered to honour Tinubu at the home of the former interim national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, in Ila.
APC members also partied to welcome the new president in Iragbiji, the hometown of Adegboyega Oyetola, the state’s most recent governor.
A band was stationed at the APC state party secretariat in Osogbo, where a large number of party members were also present.
Adegboyega Adelabu, who served as the ex-governor’s special adviser for youth and sports, told The PUNCH in Osogbo at the APC state secretariat that celebrations for Tinubu’s inauguration took place throughout the state’s nine federal constituencies.
This is still going on in all nine of Osun State’s federal constituencies, he declared. While we are currently celebrating in Osogbo, this event is also taking place in Ede, Iwo, Ikire, Ife, Ilesa, Ijebu-ijesa, Ila, and Ikirun, which are all federal constituencies.
“We are happy that the All Progressives Congress has emerged. You’ll concur with me when I say that this is the first time a core progressive will serve as the head of state,” he said.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was congratulated on Monday by Biodun Oyebanji, the governor of Ekiti State, for a job well done during his inauguration.
According to Oyebanji’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the new President is “a seasoned administrator and strategist who has the wealth of experience to turn the fortunes of Nigeria around positively, making use of abundant human and material resources.”
“With President Tinubu in the driver’s seat, Nigeria is in safe hands for sustainable development, economic revival, sustenance of infrastructure renewal, reduction of poverty, creation of wealth and jobs, and fulfilment of electoral promises made in the lead-up to the presidential election,” the governor declared.
Along with congratulating Tinubu on his successful inauguration, the Niger Delta Youth Council called on him to “focus on infrastructure development, so as to cast his name in gold,” and “prioritise the proper development of the Niger Delta region.”
