Despite the party’s poor performance in the region’s five states in the 2023 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised not to deny or shortchange the South East in political appointments.

According to reports, the APC believes that distributing political positions would be fair.

Mr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman (South East), revealed this during the official opening of the new APC State Secretariat in Enugu.

In response to a question about the exclusion of Igbos from President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments, the APC National Vice Chairman stated that many Igbos would still be appointed to strategic positions.

As a result, he urged Igbos to back Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that the President would protect their interests.

During the 2023 general elections, Tinubu received the fewest votes in the South East.
