On Saturday, the ninth Senate’s final plenary was attended by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The first two seats in the front row, which are frequently taken by the leaders, were reserved for the couple.

After being sworn in on June 12, 2019, the ninth Senate will conclude its work on June 11, 2023.

Most of the lawmakers were present for the valedictory session, which began at around 11 a.m., along with the Vice President and First Lady, Kano State Governor Uba Sani, and Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, among others.

The lawmakers can still carry out other legislative duties until Sunday, June 11, even though they won’t be able to participate in plenary sessions after today.

The election of the presiding officers will take place on Tuesday, June 13, the first day of the 10th Assembly.

There will only be about 34 senators from the ninth Senate returning to the tenth Assembly, according to reports.
