The claim that former governor Abdullahi Ganduje obtained a N10 billion loan for the installation of closed-circuit television cameras in Kano State has been criticised as false and misleading by Mallam Muhammad Garba, a former commissioner for information and internal affairs in Kano State.
The Coalition of Political Analysis Forum and Governance allegedly made the claim, to which the former commissioner was responding.
By requesting an investigation into Ganduje, the CSO, according to Garba, was trying to discredit the former governor.

“We ask them to show proof of the N10 billion loan. For the record, the State Executive Council and the Assembly formally approved the project when the previous administration conceived it, taking into account the project’s significance in boosting state security. Unfortunately, on July 1, 2022, a Federal High Court in Kano issued an injunction prohibiting the government from securing the loan.
We recall that on July 19, the same court presided over by Justice Abdullahi Liman acknowledged that it had been misled in the case brought by one Yusuf Rabi’u, the owner of another non-existent CSO by the name of Kano First Forum, and had released the restraining order as a result. Garba said, “Unfortunately, the facility had not been secured up to the end of our tenure, and the project could not be carried out.
