The Nigeria Police Academy has made an online application portal available to Nigerian citizens who are interested and meet the prerequisites for admission to its 10th regular course cadet degree program.
According to a statement released on Monday in Abuja by the Force’s public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the online registration process would last six weeks, from July 24 to September 3.
Adejobi claimed that enrollment in the academy would give morally upright Nigerians of both sexes the chance to serve their nation.
He states that candidates must be of Nigerian descent by birth, have a National Identity Number, and have JAMB results from 2023 with a minimum score of 180.
The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, must have been the applicant’s first option on the JAMB application, according to the police official.
A minimum of six credits from WAEC/NECO or its equivalent, taken in no more than two sittings, along with credit passes in English and mathematics, were additional requirements, according to the applicant, who must also meet these requirements.
In addition to being physically, mentally, and medically healthy, Adejobi stated that applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 21 as on October 31.
Male applicants must be at least 1.67 meters tall and female applicants must be at least 1.64 meters, with male applicants’ expanded chest sizes need to be at least 86 cm (34 inches).
“The applicant must have a working phone number and email account at the time of admission and cannot be married or pregnant.
Senior School Certificate Examination declarations of result or certificates issued before 2019 won’t be acknowledged, he stated.
Adejobi invited interested candidates who met the requirements to go to the academy’s website at https://www.polac.edu.ng and generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) codes. He said that the application process was virtual.
The number, according to him, would be used to pay a N3,500 non-refundable fee at any Nigerian commercial bank branch.
“After making a successful payment, a form will appear that candidates must fill out and upload scanned copies of their SSCE results, birth certificates, and state of origin documents.
Following that, candidates must print out their completed online applications and guarantor papers to be filled out and submitted at the Nigeria Police Academy during the physical screening.
A date for the academy’s automated physical screening exercise would be announced in due course, he said.
The police spokesman stated that successful candidates will take a computer-based test, a following automated medical screening exercise, and an automated interview/selection exercise for the purpose of ultimate candidate selection.
He explained that those who were chosen will go through a five-year academic and police training program, earning a bachelor’s degree and commissioning as Assistant Superintendent of Police II in the Nigerian Police Force.
Adejobi went on to say that Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, the interim inspector general of police, has promised accountability and openness throughout the procedure.
He claimed that Egbetokun warned candidates to be aware of online imposters, scammers, and other criminal elements who would attempt to use the application process to engage in dishonest activities.
