The Zamfara State Police Command has announced that it is increasing its efforts to rescue four kidnapped women who face the possibility of being married off against their will in the terrorists’ safe haven.

It has been reported that in a video clip lasting two minutes and nineteen seconds that was released by the terrorists on Sunday, the kidnapped women can be seen sobbing and pleading for the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, and the general public to save them before the bandits marry them against their will.

The girls, who all appeared to be malnourished and wore hijabs, stated that they faced the possibility of being married off against their will because their families were unable to pay the N12 million ransom that was demanded by their captors.

The abductees, identified as Aisha Yahaya, Jamila Yahaya, Ummu Sani, and Hauwa Garba, were kidnapped along Birnin Magaji-Kaura Namoda Road in Zamfara State six months ago.

Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the state police command, spoke with a reporter over the phone on Monday and stated that the police were doing everything in their power to free the hostages.

“We have started a rescue operation, and by the grace of God, we will do our best to get the women,” the spokesman for the police department said.

Suleiman Idris, who is the press secretary for Governor Dauda Lawal, stated that in order for him to comment on the matter, he needed to first hear from the governor. This was the position that he took.

It was in the afternoon on Monday that he made his request, saying, “Please give me more time to get in touch with my governor by eight o’clock today before I can make any comment.”

It has been six months since bandits kidnapped four females, one of whom was a student at Zamfara State College of Arts and Science in Gusau, Zamfara State. This is something that could be recalled.
