His alleged resignation is a result of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet nominating and likely appointing him as a minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Umahi is a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party in power, and previously served as governor of the state of Ebonyi. He also represents Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
