Due to alleged “serious misconduct of salary and pension scam,” the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has terminated the employment of Ibrahim Garba, the Chief Secretarial Assistant assigned to the State Pension Board.
The BSCSC’s information officer, Mr. Saleh Umar, stated this in a statement that was made public in Bauchi on Tuesday.
The Public Service Rule (PSR) 0327(XI), which deals with matters of financial embezzlement, is said to have been broken by Garba’s actions.
During the 17th plenary session’s first session on August 1, the commission gave its approval for the termination.
“Garba was found guilty of changing the account number of one Audu Mohammed, who is now deceased, with his own by the State Pension Board’s disciplinary committee.
“This allowed the pay point to be changed when the deceased’s kin notified his passing.
“Subsequently, he collected an illegal pension for 55 months totaling N54,871 for four years and seven months, totaling more than N3 million.
He declared, “This sum will be collected from Garba’s benefits.
He went on to say that Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the chairman of the commission, had urged state employees to carry out their jobs with a sense of reverence for God.
Usman emphasized the need to uphold and respect the public service rule.
The commission won’t sit by while dishonest people undermine the service, the chairman promised the state’s public servants, assuring them that no worker will be victimized for no reason.
