Government of Anambra awards contracts for Onitsha roads, others

The disbursement of N119 million in favour of Alitho Nigeria Limited for the construction of Premier Road in Onitsha has been authorised by the Anambra State Executive Council. Various companies received contracts to build additional Onitsha highways.

The contract’s completion deadline is four weeks after the date the mobilisation fee is paid, and it includes preliminary costs, contingencies, and 7.5% VAT of N8,911,125.45.

This information was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Sir Paul Nwosu, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information.

According to Nwosu, the action is a step towards realising the aim of Anambra State’s governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to transform the region into “a liveable and prosperous megacity with the best road network.”

The disbursement of N1.9 billion for the construction of the Ukwuorji Awka-Umenechi Village-Ifite Nibo-Isiagu Road with a 2.1 km spur to Zik Avenue was also approved by the state executive council, he continued.

He said that J. Quarison International Limited was given the contract, which had a five-month (dry weather) completion window starting from the day the mobilisation fee was paid.

According to the release, “Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s ambition of transforming Anambra State into a livable, thriving megacity with the best road network is being moved forward.

“The Anambra State Executive Council has approved the release of N119,000,000 inclusive of preliminary costs, unforeseen expenses, and 7.5% VAT of N8,911,125.45 in favour of Alitho Nig. Ltd. for the construction of Premier Road, Onitsha. The date of completion is four weeks after the date the mobilising fee is paid.

The release of N1.9 billion, which is the revised estimated total cost for the construction of the Ukwuorji Awka-Umenechi Village-Ifite Nibo-Isiagu Road with a 2.1 km spur to Zik Avenue, was also approved by ANSEC.

J. Quarison International Limited received the contract, which had a five-month (dry weather) completion window starting from the day the mobilisation fee was paid.

“ANSEC equally emphasised to the renovation of Port Harcourt Street, Onitsha, at the price of N1.8 billion.

“FEROTEX Construction Company received the contract, which had a five-month completion window starting on the day the mobilisation fee was paid.

Miss Elems Road in Onitsha received an N430 million council award for repair. Mashuchun International Ltd. was given the contract, with a three-month completion window starting on the day the mobilisation fee was paid. The existence of the Solution cannot be disputed.
