Kwara Assembly approves 18 commissioner candidates

On Tuesday, the Kwara State House of Assembly approved Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s nomination of 18 people to serve as commissioners.

Following their review and consideration before the assembly’s Committee of Whole on Tuesday’s plenary, this confirmation followed.

The action was in accordance with the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution, Section 182 Sub-Sections 1 and 2.

Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam (Offa), Folashade Opeyemi (Ekiti), Senior Ibrahim Sulyman (Ilorin West), Hawa Nuru (Ilorin West), Abdulqowiyu Olododo (Ilorin East), and Olaitan Buraimah Abosede (Oyun) are among the newly confirmed Commissioner-nominees.

 

Saadah Maddibo-Kawu (Ilorin South), Aliyu Kora Sabi (Baruten), Dr. Segun Ogunshola (Ifelodun), Abdul-Azeez Kola (Asa), Abdullahi Batta (Kaiama), Shehu Ndanusa (Edu), and Abdullahi Batta are other candidates.

Bolanle Odukuju (Irepodun) and Dr. Mary Arinde (Oke-Ero) round out the group.

Toyosi Thomas, John Bello (Moro), Usman Lade (Pategi), and Damilola (Isin).

In a similar spirit, the House of Assembly also confirmed Jemilah Adamu Bake, a resident of the state’s Baruten Local Government Area, as Commissioner of the Kwara State Civil Service Commission.

Yakubu Salihu, the Speaker of the House, gave the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ahmed Abdul-Kareem, the order to inform the Governor that the nominees had been confirmed.
