Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who serves as the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum, was recently appointed by President Bola Tinubu to the position of Special Adviser on Political Issues in the office of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

This information was shared by Baba-Ahmed on Monday in a post that was made on his X handle. Baba-Ahmed is the older brother of the person who would be running as Peter Obi’s vice presidential candidate in the presidential election that will take place in 2023 for the Labour Party.

He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the development of the nation and added that doing so was an honor for him.

Through his Twitter account, he wrote, “It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP.”

“This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country around,” the speaker said. “This is the time to get on board and help.” I am flattered and grateful at the same time. I ask that you pray for both me and Nigeria.
