Deji Adeleke, the older brother of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, owns a Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft. The management of Quits Aviation has refuted allegations that it tampered with the engine of the aircraft.
The management stated in a statement on Tuesday that nobody could interfere with the aircraft’s engine because it was constantly being watched by security personnel, and CCTV footage has revealed no evidence of such tampering.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor of Osun State’s spokesperson, stated on Sunday that Governor Ademola Adeleke and a few of his aides had nearly avoided an airplane disaster.
Rasheed claimed that the governor was being transported in a plane that may have had its engine tampered with.
An airplane carrying Adeleke and some of his staff reportedly came dangerously close to crashing on September 5 as it tried to take off from Lagos for a trip to Abuja, according to a national daily.
In a statement released on Sunday, Rasheed verified the information and added that preliminary findings from the internal probe suggested the likelihood of sabotage.
However, Quits Aviation’s management claimed in a statement on Tuesday that the business is a respectable and trustworthy aviation corporation with a stellar history of providing Aircraft Management, Maintenance, Operations, and Handling services.
According to the statement, Quits Aviation is responsible for providing a suitable and secure parking space at its facilities, while the owner/operator is in charge of the technical parking procedures in accordance with the relevant Aircraft Maintenance Manuals. The aircraft in question is a Bombardier Challenger 605, registered as 5N-ATA.

The aircraft was parked at Quits Aviation’s facilities before the incident on April 9, 2023, according to Adeleke’s assistant. There are no records of tampering or security violations having occurred when the aircraft was being parked while being under 24-hour security surveillance.
The following may be validated based on CCTV footage that was viewed: On the day of the flight (04.09.2023) at around 08:45, the aircraft was dragged from its parked position and repositioned near to the Legend Business Hangar to start with flight preparation procedures.
The management further stated that the CCTV footage had not captured any evidence of tampering or security breaches other than the moving of the aircraft from its parking area to another position prior to Adeleke’s departure on September 4, 2023.
“It is confirmed that the aircraft had been parked without an engine cover protection,” the statement continued. There was no other movement that interfered with its airframe or engines outside the towing movement.
“The aircraft doors were opened for flight preparation procedures at roughly 13:18 on the same day and remained open until the aircraft took off for its intended flight at roughly 15:20.
The aircraft eventually made its way back to the runway and departed Quits Aviation’s facilities at around 17:12.
“Quits Aviation regrets the occurrence and reaffirms its full cooperation with pertinent parties and the authorities conducting the incident investigation.
Quits Aviation advises its renters to park their aircraft in strict accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual Procedures, which mandates that open orifices and engines be covered at all times to prevent damage from foreign objects and infestation.
