Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has remarked that no teacher should die while giving information.
He made the remarks on Friday in response to the heinous murder of a secondary school teacher in Jalingo, the state capital, by some students.
He called the situation “extremely regrettable,” and asked parents and stakeholders to step up their supervision of their children at home and at school.
The governor, in a press statement made available to newsmen in the state by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, expressed his regret at the occurrence, saying it is evidence of societal deterioration.
He went on to say, “It is a wake-up call for parents and all stakeholders to intensify their supervisory roles over their wards at home and in schools.”

He recognized drug use by some adolescents as a key cause of society’s vices, urged security personnel to leave no stone unturned in bringing the criminals to punishment.
He believed they could accomplish this by conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident’s causes.
Kefas, who sees the free education policy as protecting the future of the youth, remarked that ensuring the welfare and well-being of both instructors and students is part of this strategy.
He underlined the need of securing schools and making them safe for learning, reiterating his administration’s commitment to ridding the educational system of its problems.
According to reports, a secondary school teacher named Bassey Sarduana Nkuphee was stabbed to death on Thursday by one of his former students, who was proven by authorities to have conspired with some school pals.
