Following the completion of renovations at the Assembly Complex in Lokoja, members of the Kogi House of Assembly will reconvene plenary on Monday, according to a statement made by Speaker Umar Yusuf on Sunday.

Through Yabagi Mohammed, his chief press secretary, Yusuf disclosed the information in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

He announced that the assembly had received the complex’s complete renovation.

According to NAN, a strange fire destroyed the complex on October 10, 2022, which is why the state administration awarded a contract for renovations.

By God’s grace, the Speaker said, “The complex renovations are complete, and we hope to resume plenary in the complex by tomorrow, December 11.”

Convener of the Annual Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition (BEBM), Mr. Oladipo Bayode, has praised the technological know-how and craftsmanship used in the assembly complex refurbishment.

“A world class construction with high value for money,” was how he put the job description.

The contractor and all service providers involved in the building refurbishment project received praise from Bayode, who delivered the recognition during a visit to the project site.

“We hereby compliment the handling of the renovation project as a professional body. We think the work is fantastic and we are happy with it.

We sincerely hope that the contractor will carry out all of his projects to the outstanding caliber for which he is recognized.

He said, “We implore the shrewd building contractor to carry on being an inspiration to others, both inside and outside of Kogi.”
