In response to a viral video featuring his protégé and kid comedian Emanuella Samuel that has sparked conflicting opinions on social media, comedian Mark Angel has issued an apology.
The comedian could be seen in the video, which went viral on Thursday, sporting a high-slit black dress that revealed her lap.
Some said that she was too young to be sharing such content, but others thought the video was OK and praised the comedian for her development.
Late on Thursday, in response to the criticism, Angel expressed regret and said that the film had been shared without his permission.
On his Instagram page, he posted, “Dear friends and family, I would like to address a matter concerning my child: Emanuella’s recent video that has been making the rounds on social media.
“Unfortunately, she posted the inappropriate clothing that belonged to one of her older sisters on her WhatsApp status without our knowledge. A view-hungry adult, who I think should have called to report the child’s behavior because we consider her a family friend, downloaded the video and posted it on her own tiktok account without taking into account the possibility that the child posted the video without fully understanding the consequences.”
“Neither her handler nor I gave our agreement for the footage to be shared.
“As a parent, I fully accept responsibility, and I truly apologize for any inconvenience or worry this may have caused.
I’m talking to my youngster about the circumstance and stressing the value of making moral decisions. I am taking steps to make sure that this doesn’t happen again, so please accept that this was an error.
“Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time.”
