Two people were killed and numerous others were injured by Boko Haram militants during a raid on Chibok town in Borno State’s Chibok Local Government Area on Tuesday.

When rebels invaded the Government Girls Secondary School in April 2014 and kidnapped over 300 kids, the community gained national attention.

Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, there was the most recent strike.

A local named Moses Adamu claimed that while the rebels went on the rampage, shooting, destroying houses, and stealing food, the residents fled into the nearby bushes.

Most of the villagers, according to Adamu, slept in the bushes that night, while others may have sought safety in nearby communities.

“Those who fled started returning home this afternoon, so while we are certain that two people died from the terrorists’ gunshots, there may be more deaths that we are not yet aware of,” he stated.

The attack was confirmed by the Borno State Police Command, which also stated that a combined team of the local vigilante, police, and military responded quickly.

The state police public relations officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth, stated, “The attack was repelled by the joint effort of the military and the police.”

Sadly, two people lost their lives in the attack: Mr. Badi, who was 75 years old, and Ngule, who was 45, both perished.

Kenneth went on, “But things are back to normal now.”
