Boyloaf, a.k.a. Chief Ebikabowei Victor-Ben, a.k.a. the former militant commander, has urged on Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to eschew panhandlers and work toward reconciliation with Barr. Nyesom Wike, the former governor and minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

In response to the ongoing political impasse in Rivers State between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Governor Nyesom Wike, Boyloaf made the call yesterday in Yenagoa.

He stated that the Rivers State governor should take the path of peace and reconciliation with his predecessor for the sake of peace and for the advancement of Rivers State, regardless of the apparent support being given to Governor Fubara by some people both inside and outside the state.

Boyloaf, who also voiced worry over the Rivers crisis’s protracted resolution, claimed that people stoking the flames of the conflict are doing it for their own financial gain. He issued a warning to those stoking the flames of the problem, saying that they would not be seen near Fubara in the event that his authority as Rivers State’s governor was compromised.

“This shouldn’t be occurring in Rivers State at this early stage. They ought to be able to find serenity somehow. Fubura ought to be making sure that Rivers State is peaceful by now.

“If his mandate is compromised, the people who support him the most will be the ones to take advantage of him,” In order to ensure that reconciliation is accomplished as soon as possible, he ought to enlist the assistance of those leaders who value peace.

Boyloaf, a key figure in the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and a key player in the establishment of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), noted that the people of Rivers and the Niger Delta are aware of the significance of the former governor, Nyesom Wike, to the area.

While other Niger Delta elders and leaders fought for another Fulani man to replace a Fulani man as President, Wike stayed hard in the struggle to secure Tinubu’s southern presidency. Wike continued, “It’s not that he doesn’t like the Fulani man; he battled for true federalism, fairness, parity, and peace.

The relationship between former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson and Governor Douye Diri, according to Boyloaf, “was peaceful and harmonious due to patience, understanding, and loyalty.” Boyloaf further asked Fubura to draw a page from this relationship. Take a look at Senator Dickson and Governor Douye Diri. Governor Diri resisted being dragged into conflict with his predecessor when Dickson assisted Douye Diri in becoming governor with the help of the Almighty.

“It demonstrates Governor Diri’s gratitude and loyalty, which inspired Senator Dickson to work candidly and arduously for Diri’s second term.” It demonstrated that they fought for Bayelsa State’s unity and will not let apologists drive a wedge between them,” he said.
