President Bola Tinubu has been urged by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth coalition to ensure that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) presidential candidate, be seamlessly reintegrated into the ruling party.
The group specifically demanded that Tinubu fire Dr. Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, for “his failure to deliver Kano State to the APC in the last governorship election.”
The coalition chairman, Ali Mai Sango, made the plea on Sunday in Kano while speaking to reporters. He stated that enabling Kwankwaso’s return to the APC will improve the party’s chances of winning Kano in 2027.
He claims that the only thing ensuring Tinubu’s continued aspirations to become president is Kwankwaso’s political influence in Kano and Northern Nigeria.
He asserted that Kwankwaso’s decision to join the APC will improve the party’s prospects in the upcoming general election because Ganduje had lost political significance in Kano.
