A chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has dismissed the possibility of the National Assembly attempting to impeach President Bola Tinubu over the hardship facing Nigerians.
Isiguzoro said Southern Senators would resist any attempt by their Northern counterpart to impeach Tinubu over the economic downturn in the country.
Speaking with reporter, the factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze said on Tuesday: “On the potential impeachment of Tinubu by the National Assembly, led by Senate President Akpabio, it is clear that the leadership is subservient to the presidency and lacks the courage to take a stand.
“While the Northern Senators possess the inclination to incite impeachment proceedings, the Southern Senators are expected to resist such actions. The current landscape suggests that any impeachment attempts will face significant pushback.”
Isiguzoro urged all Nigerians to unite and stand resiliently against these challenges.
He said that “accountability from the President and elected officials is imperative, along with advocating for practical solutions to uplift the lives of the citizenry before it is too late.”
