The Edo State Police Command has arrested a suspected infamous cultist terrorizing residents within the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, made the disclosure by way of an announcement on Tuesday in Benin.
Nwabuzor mentioned that males of the Fugar Police Division intercepted the suspect throughout a stop-and-search operation within the space.
He mentioned that the suspect, aged 30, was driving a Haojue bike, when he was arrested.
TAccording to him, the police recovered one cut-to-size double-barrel gun and 9 rounds of stay cartridges from the suspect, including that the suspect has confessed to membership of Black Axe.
Nwabuzor mentioned that the suspect confessed that he was taking the gun to Auchi in Edo to fulfill another secret cult members.
The PPRO mentioned the suspect, the gun and the cartridges will quickly be transferred to the State Prison Investigation Division for additional investigation.
He quoted the state Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye as praising the Fugar divisional police officer and his crew members for gallantry and dedication to preventing crime.
In keeping with the spokesperson, Adegboye mentioned that hardship wouldn’t be an excuse for committing crime.
