Abia Govt confirms death of ABSU student in cult clash

Abia State Authorities says it has commenced investigation into the loss of life of a pupil of Abia State College, ABSU, who misplaced his life in a conflict between rival cult teams.

Mr Okey Kanu, the state Commissioner for Data and Tradition, made this identified on Monday throughout a press briefing on the result of the State Govt Council assembly, held on the Authorities Home, Umuahia.

Kanu stated: “It has come to the discover of the federal government that there have been skirmishes in Abia State College, Uturu, inside some pupil teams.

“Some movies have been trending on-line to the impact {that a} pupil misplaced his life in these skirmishes.

“As a responsive and accountable authorities, some remedial actions have been taken to revive peace and order on campus.

“Authorities has dispatched safety businesses to take management of the state of affairs at ABSU.

The Commissioner charged college students of all tertiary establishments within the state to keep away from partaking in any type of violence and actions that might have an effect on their lives and research.
