15 youngsters arrested for robbing Yola residents, daggers, drugs recovered

Fifteen younger males related to a youth gang domestically referred to as Shila Boys, have been arrested for allegedly robbing residents of the Adamawa State capital, Yola.

The state Police Command stated in an announcement launched Wednesday afternoon that in its struggle towards Shila gangsterism, its operatives arrested the suspects earlier within the day.

“Within the early hours of right now, Wednesday thirteenth March 2024, Police at Jimeta Division, Yola North LGA, Adamawa State, whereas on patrol with Vigilante males alongside Rumde engaged radical SHILLA gangs working with sharp daggers and knives robbing harmless individuals of their belongings,” the assertion defined.

Signed by police picture maker, Suleiman Nguroje, the assertion stated the 15 suspects had been arrested with weapons that embody 4 sharp daggers and three knives.

In accordance with the assertion, two handsets, a money sum of N19, 000; and a few portions of exhausting medication, amongst different issues, had been recovered from the suspects.

The assertion gave the names of the suspects, whose ages vary from 13 to twenty, as Adamu Abdullahi, Hassan Mohammed, Abdullahi Yusuf, Abdulrazak Abubakar, Ibrahim Umar, and Mohammed Zakaria.

The remaining are Mohammed Auwal, Kabiru Abdullahi, Auwal Adamu, Aminu Adamu, Abdulrahman Umar, Amir Mohammed, Anas Rufai, Usman Tijjani, and Mohammed Abubakar.

The police assured that the suspects can be diligently prosecuted upon completion of investigations.
