Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevoluntionNow, has referred to as for the scrapping of the Nigerian senate.
Sowore stated the Senate has turn out to be a coven and retirement house for liars and corrupt former governors.
He was reacting to claims that Senators obtained N500 million every from the 2024 funds.
The Senator representing Cross River North, Agom Jarigbe, made the revelation on the ground of the Senate on Tuesday, throughout a session on the alleged padding of the 2024 funds.
Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi had earlier alleged that N3.7 trillion was padded into the 2024 funds.
Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “It’s time we significantly transfer to abolish the bi-cameral legislative system, particularly the @NGRSenate, which has at all times been a coven of thieves; it’s the retirement house of persistent liars, never-do-wells, and corrupt former governors in Nigeria. We’d like a unicameral legislative arm with not more than 100 part-time lawmakers. #RevolutionNow.”
