A serious hearth catastrophe was averted on Saturday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, when a petroleum tanker fell on the freeway and spilled its contents.
The incident occurred at about 1:10 pm and concerned a petroleum tanker carrying 50,000 litres of petrol.
The spokesman of the State Fireplace Service, Hassan Adekunle, stated in a press release in Ilorin on Saturday: “The hearth service management room acquired a misery name relating to a fallen petrol tanker with registration quantity UDD 155 SA close to Eucharistic Secondary Faculty, reverse Coca-Cola junction, Asa Dam Street, Ilorin, which posed a major menace to highway customers and pedestrians.

Upon arrival, they instantly commenced efforts to drench the tanker and its environment extensively, thereby decreasing the chance of a hearth outbreak. Moreover, the highway was quickly closed to make sure public security.”
Adekunle disclosed that the collaborative efforts of varied companies, together with the Federal Fireplace Service, Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Police, and Kwara State Street Visitors Administration Authority, enormously facilitated the protection measures deployed.
