Justice James Kolawole Omotoso of the Federal Excessive Courtroom in Abuja has dismissed a swimsuit instituted in opposition to the Federal Authorities searching for the prohibition of the conduct of elections and examinations on Saturdays in Nigeria.

The swimsuit instituted by the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Nigeria was thrown out by the Decide on floor of being frivolous, vexatious, irritating and baseless.

The church had claimed that Saturday is its Sabbath day of worship and that elementary rights of its members are being brutally breached by the conduct of elections and examinations on Saturdays.

The plaintiff then sought order of the Courtroom to ban the Federal Authorities of Nigeria from additional conducting elections and examinations on the Sabbath day in order to cease disruption of their rights to worship.

Nonetheless, Justice Omotoso, in his judgment on Wednesday, held that the basic rights being claimed by the church weren’t at giant and can’t be curtailed by authorities coverage.

In addition to, the Decide held that the Seventh Day Adventist Church is within the minority in Nigeria and can’t impose its doctrine on the vast majority of different non secular denominations within the nation.
