A think-tank organisation, the Federalist Movement of Nigeria, has expressed its strong resolve to support President Bola Tinubu in the task of restructuring the country.
The organisation has equally faulted the current state police as proposed by the national assembly without the corresponding constitutional amendment.
The President of the organisation, Adetomiwa Adetilewa, disclosed this in a letter sent to Tinubu and made available to journalists on Thursday.
The group said that Tinubu’s vision of a restructured Nigeria resonated with many citizens who believe this is the path to a stronger and more prosperous nation and are, therefore, ready to contribute their quota towards getting the country restructured without further delay.
Adetilewa said, “As a think-tank organisation, we are willing to contribute our expertise and resources to facilitate the development of a new constitution that reflects the values of true federalism.
“Our organisation comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, including legal experts, scholars, and professionals who are passionate about our beloved country’s well-being.
“The current state police, as proposed by the National Assembly without the corresponding constitutional amendment can’t work; in fact, it will further defeat the principle of federalism while strengthening the lopsided unitary system.”
