C & S leader, Abidoye, for burial April 27

THE late Chairman and Spiritual Leader of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Abidoye, will be buried on Saturday, April 27.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the chairman of the burial committee, Remi Awode, on Thursday.

Prophet Abidoye died on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 103 years.

According to Awode, activities commemorating the week-long burial ceremony, which will attract members of C&S Movement Worldwide both at home and in the diaspora, as well as other important dignitaries from all walks of life, will take place at the Galilee Land, International Headquarters of the Church at Orile-Igbon, Oyo State.

Also expected to grace the burial programme is the President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Daniel Okoh.

While highlighting the sequence of events, Awode noted that the activities would kick off formally on Monday, April 22, 2024, with Service of Songs at the Galilee Church Auditorium, to be anchored by Youths, Women Fellowship and Children Ministry, with the theme: ‘The Place,’

On Tuesday, April 23, it will be the second Service of Songs and Tributes by the Councils of Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Model Churches.

“On Wednesday, April 24, will be Sports and Night of Tributes featuring Football and Handball by students of C&S College, Ilorin, Kwara State, as well as Tributes by Galilee Land Committee representatives, funeral committee representatives, communities/family representatives, UK diaspora representatives, USA diaspora representatives, Unification Church, OAIC, and CAN Churches.”

Awode added that the late cleric’s corpse will leave the mortuary on Thursday for Omu-Aran, Kwara State, his home town, for celebration and lying in state service at Ile Nla, Omu-Aran and GSS Field, Omu-Aran, respectively, while the corpse will return to Galilee Land same day.

He added that the Friday programme will be a twin programme featuring Christian wake service and Praise Night at Galilee land, as well as Night of Tributes by the Conference Secretariat, Management Committee, Conference Advisory Committee, family and Board of Trustees of the Church.

“The remains of Baba Aladura, Prophet Abidoye, will be committed to Mother Earth by noon at his Mausoleum in Galilee Land, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, after a burial service at the Galilee Church Auditorium by Most Rev. Daniel Okoh, President, CAN, while entertainment of guests will be held immediately at the Galilee Land Primary & Secondary School Playing Ground,” the statement added.
