Contrary to the scheduled start time of 10 am for accreditation, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Ondo State is yet to commence.

As per the initial plan, accreditation was set to begin at 10 am, but the process has been stalled due to delays in distributing sensitive electoral materials.

Currently, the Chairman of the 2024 Governorship Primary in Ondo State, Governor Usman Ododo, and Electoral committee members are stationed at a hotel in Ijapp Estate, Akure, the state capital.

Some party members, including one of the governorship aspirants, Olugbenga Edema, are also present at the hotel, eagerly awaiting the distribution of the necessary materials for the primary.

Edema, a gubernatorial aspirant hailing from Ilaje Local Government Area of the state, has expressed frustration over the delay in distributing sensitive electoral materials.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, had previously stated that material distribution would commence at 7 am, followed by accreditation at 10 am.

However, despite the assurances, the electoral officers of the party are still waiting for the arrival of the sensitive voting materials at the hotel.

The delay in material distribution has caused uncertainty and anticipation among party members and aspirants.
