Makems Jewellery, a rapidly growing jewelry manufacturing company in Abuja, Nigeria, has enthralled the city with its annual jewelry exhibition. Hundreds of people attended the event, which showcased a wide variety of stylish, exquisite, and one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry items that were both imported and locally produced.
In keeping with the Federal Government’s policy direction on promoting local content in all sectors of the economy, the jewelry exhibition featured a carefully curated display of exceptional ornaments, ranging from modern designs to vintage treasures like Makems handmade jewelry, earrings, long necklaces, jewelry sets, bangles and bracelets, rings, and male bracelets, among others.
Fashion enthusiasts and prospective customers were drawn to the annual Makems 2024 Jewellery Exhibition, held on December 7, 2024, at the Glowing Ages Academy, Games Village Road, Kaura District, Abuja. They took advantage of the chance to network with other attendees and buy fashionable jewelry that matched their status as the Yuletide season got underway.
Miss Temitope Adejare, Director of Business Development at Makems, spoke to attendees and stakeholders at the event, stating that Makems Jewellery sells both imported and locally made jewelry.
“When you take into account the recent economic developments regarding the dollar’s exchange rate against the naira, you’ll see that the cost of imported goods has increased significantly due to their dollar value.

Therefore, at Makems Jewellery, we have made careful to select locally made jewelry materials, and many of those that are produced locally in Nigeria are on display at this expo.
“At this exhibition, we have been able to create stunning jewelry pieces that people truly adore because Makems Jewellery is passionate about creating jewelry and we are now making do with what we can do in Nigeria,” Adejare stated.
“What we do is unique to an individual,” she clarified. We don’t use the same design twice. Therefore, if you purchase any jewelry from Makems, it is the only one available in terms of design. People have learned about this over time, and they enjoy visiting the exhibition because they love it too.
She claims that Makems works all year long to compile the finest jewelry products made locally as well as some imported designs. The exhibition then brings people together to view the different designs that Makems has put on display for the season and buy their favorite designs.
