Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has disclosed how Salihu Lukman, a former national vice chairman of the party’s North-West division, and Kayode Fayemi, the former governors of Ekiti and Ogun States, respectively, plotted his ouster as the party’s head.

Oshiomhole specifically addressed his conflict with the governors chosen based on the ruling party’s policy.

He revealed this information on Tuesday in Abuja during the book launch of Salihu Lukman’s “APC and Transition Politics.”

According to Oshiomhole, the author and a few governors led the effort that resulted in his “illegal” expulsion from office.

He claimed that after he took steps to establish party supremacy, the governors used every unlawful tactic under the book to get rid of him.

Lukman disregarded my leadership in multiple letters without giving me a call. There is only one place to go when you are riding a tiger.

Lukman was appointed by the governors’ forum in an undemocratic manner. Since I was a governor, I wasn’t consulted. We were informed that the APC Governors Forum’s new DG is this person.

For a meeting, I wrote to the governors. The governors refused, telling me to travel to Imo House instead of the APC headquarters. There [where the conference was being held] was Lukman. Oshiomhole stated, “He saw nothing wrong with that.”

Recalling the atmosphere at the meeting with the governors, Oshiomhole remarked, “It felt like I was in a military barrack.”

“None of you can lecture me about the power of a governor,” he declared in response to the governors’ tirades. since I served as governor twice. Eight years without a break.

“You completed a retest,’ I reminded Fayemi at one point. After being elected, you were defeated in your second term. It implies that you were unsuccessful. Since I didn’t take the retest, you are giving me power-related lectures. I am able to list a few of them.

“The man from Ogun State informed me he would have quit the party if it weren’t for the president. “You are working for your paymaster in Lagos,” a few of them informed me. “Your boss in Bourdillon.”
