Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, stated on Monday that President Bola Tinubu will not let any minister to fail, and that Tinubu is not afraid to fire any minister who is ineffective.

Ngelale claimed Tinubu has set standards for all of the nation’s sectors since becoming president in February 2023 while speaking on Channels Television’s Daily Rise.

The standards have been set by the President. The President has demonstrated that he is not someone who is reluctant to fire people, as he did during his tenure as governor of Lagos State, and the matter at hand is enforcement.

“He is not someone who is hesitant to impose swift punishments to guarantee that they achieve the outcomes he desires because, in the end, if this government fails, they will not attribute the failure to a minister or group of ministers. They’ll claim President Bola Tinubu failed, but he won’t accept defeat, he claimed.

Ngelale also said that Tinubu proactively set up a number of reform groups that included representatives from every industry from the time he emerged as the President-elect and his inauguration on May 29.

According to him, “Tinubu basically looked at exactly what His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari had accomplished and said, “This is what we want to do to build on all these achievements.”

When a minister is appointed, we will be able to assess their performance against time-based standards that we will use to properly implement a strategy within a predetermined period of time.

Every new minister “certainly knows what they have to accomplish within the time frame that has been provided to them by the President,” which is a first in Nigerian governance.
