The All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum withdrew its earlier objection and calls for a probe into Dr. Bello Matawalle’s term as the former governor of Zamfara State and instead offered a formal apologies to the minister of state for defense.

The Forum’s spokesperson, Benjamin Yaksat, acknowledged that the group had been swayed by outside interests during a press conference on Friday in Abuja.

The group’s members, according to Yaksat, are not native to Zamfara State, and the governor allegedly funded their demonstration against the state minister of defense.

He added that the most recent news conference was arranged by the Forum on its own initiative. He went on to say, “In case anyone suggests otherwise, the All Progressive Forum is sponsoring this press conference.”

Yaksat revealed that the Forum had kicked out the individuals who organized the demonstration at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He said that a committee established by the group concluded that the previous protest was motivated by financial incentives.

“We have taken down our protest and will never do this again,” Yaksat declared.

According to the Forum, Matawalle’s accusations were unfounded and driven by selfish objectives, especially resentment over the allocation of resources.

“Sadly, our greed impairs our judgment, causing us to falsely accuse Matawalle,” Yaksat admitted.

The organizer of the Forum, Ibrahim Muhammad, went on to praise Matawalle for his efforts to address instability in the northwest. Recognizing the minister’s role in maintaining regional stability, he commended his leadership in the war against banditry.

Matawalle’s strategic leadership in the battle against banditry is something we applaud,” Muhammad said. “We implore him to keep up his efforts, as they are essential to Nigeria’s security.”

In addition to encouraging its members to embrace integrity, the APC Forum promised to concentrate on enhancing Zamfara State. They were also appreciative of Matawalle’s pardon.
