Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, to put competence first when selecting his chief of staff because that position is crucial to the success of his administration.
The groups emphasised the need for competent leadership to emerge in the National Assembly and also stated that the North West should be given consideration for the position of Senate president.
The position of Chief of Staff to the President is extremely important to the success of the incoming administration, according to the support groups that held a national joint press conference in Abuja over the weekend. Accordingly, it must be exclusively reserved for the best person.

Speaking on behalf of the groups, Engr Salisu Magaji, an APC-PCC member, said: “The chief of staff who will be in charge of managing the president’s daily activities and also in charge of coordinating all the presidential aides has to be someone who is equally cerebral and up to the task.”
Speaking on behalf of the group, Babajide Akin-Thomas stated that the success of the incoming administration will be greatly dependent on the Senate, which is a branch of government under the 10th National Assembly. Therefore, whoever is chosen to lead this branch of government must have the necessary level of experience, loyalty, and dedication to serving the people.

“Statistically, it must be noted that the North-West region merits an important role in the upcoming administration based on the results of the election. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the most votes among the six geopolitical zones in the North-West.
While they agreed that Senator Barau Jibrin should succeed Senator Ahmed Lawan as the President of the 10th Senate, they supported Senator James Abiodun Faleke as a suitable candidate for Chief of Staff.
