Assembly recovers construction equipment allegedly stolen by govt officials under Ayade

Speaker of Cross River State Home of Meeting, Elvert Ayambem, has confirmed that heavy obligation development tools, allegedly stolen by some officers throughout former governor Ben Ayade’s authorities, have been recovered.

An announcement signed by press secretary to the Speaker, Matrhew Okache, stated the restoration adopted an investigation into the misappropriation of 34 state-owned heavy-duty development tools.

“Recall that on Thursday 22 February, 2024, the Home of Meeting unanimously reaffirmed their dedication to the restoration of the development tools and demanded that the perpetrators of this fraudulent scheme face justice.

“Sequel to the Meeting’s investigative decision, among the development tools recovered and brought into the State’s custody contains 1 1050k Dozzer, 1 payloader, 1 Grader, 1 850J Dozer, 1 Backo, and a pair of Excavators.”

The assertion quoted the Speaker as saying that out of the 23 heavy-duty vehicles and tools on the location to be transported again to Calabar, seven of the tools have been efficiently returned.

Based on the assertion, the gradual motion to Calabar was attributable to a scarcity of high-powered transportation vessels.

The assertion assured that the restoration train will proceed into the subsequent week.

Ayambem reaffirmed the lawmakers’ dedication to get well all the 30 stolen items of kit.

He continued by saying that the Cross River State Authorities will save greater than N50 billion by recovering the heavy-duty tools.
