One of the eight members of the National Youth Service Corps who were kidnapped on a highway in Zamfara on Saturday has a ransom demand from bandits of N4 million.

When they were detained, the victims were riding an AKTC bus from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to Sokoto State on their way to Zamfara State to take part in the required one-year National Youth Service Corps program.

Glory Thomas’ father, Emmanuel Etteh, told Channels TV over the phone on Friday that the bandits had called to warn him of the kidnapping of his daughter and demanded N4m in exchange for her release. Glory Thomas was one of the victims.

“They contacted me on their line and demanded that I pay N4 million. When I asked my daughter how they wanted us to pay, she suggested we get in touch with the AKTC, so I spoke with her,” he stated.
