“Governor Alia’s assertion is a crass admittance of failure and an invite for a State of Emergency to be declared in Benue State. Alia has clearly demonstrated his ineptitude and incompetence in working the state.
“How does stopping political gatherings translate to addressing the safety scenario within the state? Is politics accomplished on individuals’s farms the place armed herders have been destroying crops? What have the kids, girls and different susceptible people who find themselves being killed within the communities received to do with political gatherings?
“Governor Alia has, by his pronouncement, admitted that the safety scenario in his state has overwhelmed him. He doesn’t have solutions to the Fulani invasion. He’s speaking about peaceable coexistence with Fulani and on the identical time asking them to vacate the state inside two weeks. What a contradiction!
“We should remind Governor Alia that Benue individuals voted for him to guard them, to not be flying in non-public jets the world over and spending their cash on wasteful private luxuries like shopping for costly vehicles, shopping for homes in alternative places in Makurdi, Abuja, Lagos, the US and many others. He promised us that he would supply good governance, however what we’ve up to now seen is a misfit in energy.
“We condemn the ban on political gatherings by the governor and urge him to rescind the choice to keep away from heating the polity unnecessarily. We’re in a democracy, not a dictatorship!”
