Palliative food aid was distributed to approximately 23,000 households in Baga, which is located in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. This was done in accordance with President Bola Tinubu’s plan to ensure food security across the country.
While Governor Babagana Zulum was distributing food and non-food items to the beneficiaries, he made the following statement: “Distribution of palliatives is one of the agenda items of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“He (Tinubu) has declared a state of emergency on the issue of food security, and in accordance with this objective, the Borno State Government is distributing food items to communities.
Over 20,000 people, both men and women, have received food and other necessities from us today, as stated by Zulum.
According to the government, the food distribution in Baga on Monday reached a total of 23,000 households. This includes 13,000 households in Baga town itself, 3,500 households in Cross Kauwa, which is a town close to Baga, and 6,500 households in Doro Baga, which is another community.
Bags of rice, spaghetti, and maize grain were delivered to each of the 23,000 households, and each woman in those households was given a wrapper.
