The Lagos Division of the Appeal Court confirmed Prince Dapo Abiodun’s reelection as the rightful governor of Ogun State on March 18, 2023, in a divided verdict on Friday.

According to the verdict read by Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh, the majority ruling dismissed the appeal brought by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Ladi Adebutu in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

On the other side, the appeal was granted in a minority verdict by Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang, who also ordered that a new election be held within ninety days by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Uba Sani’s appointment as governor of Kaduna is upheld by an appeals court.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja had previously affirmed the election of Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the legitimately elected Governor of Kaduna State.

A three-judge panel dismissed the appeal brought by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Isa Ashiru against Governor Sani’s election victory on Friday.

The appeal court ruled that the tribunal erred when it relied on inadmissible information to order extra polls in 22 polling units across four local government areas (LGAs) where the results were deemed inconclusive.
