Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has stated that if given the opportunity, he would slap his predecessor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
On Friday, Kwankwaso reportedly met with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock.
Ganduje expressed his displeasure when asked by State House reporters about the security situation in Kano State following the demolition carried out by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.
Although he acknowledged Kwankwaso’s presence in the building, he claimed they had not met.
Ganduje boldly declared, “Probably if we met, maybe I could have slapped him.”
Ganduje was outraged by the demolition, citing a lack of proper investigation and prior notice as required by the Land Use Act.
According to the former Kano Governor, he discussed the issue extensively with the president and filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba. According to him, the petition included video evidence of the looting and vandalism that occurred as a result of the demolition.

Ganduje went on to call the current governor a “stooge” of Kwankwaso and blamed his unhappiness on the widespread condemnation of the demolitions.
Remember how the current state governor defended the exercise, claiming it was part of his commitment to “restore” the city’s urban development masterplan. He also emphasized that the demolitions were not motivated by a personal vendetta against the previous administration led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, implying that more demolitions could be forthcoming.
As of press time, Kwankwaso was still meeting with the President behind closed doors.
