The state House of Assembly’s complex was being demolished by roughly ten bulldozers on Wednesday, further exacerbating the political crisis in Rivers State.
This occurred just before the demolition started on Wednesday, when other governor-supporting members, led by the divisive Speaker Edison Ehie, called an early meeting.
It was said that Ehie stated during the meeting that the complex needed repairs because of the explosion that shook the building on October 30, 2023, and that the governor would provide for a temporary replacement location for them to sit in.
The demolition is being done under tight security.
