Adegoke Fayoade, the state’s new commissioner of police, has promised to provide impenetrable security both before and after the state’s Christmas and New Year’s festivities.

On Thursday, shortly after assuming the role of the new CP in Lagos Command, Fayoade provided the assurance in conversation with reporters.

As the acting CP, DCP Waheed Ayinllara passed the reins of command to Fayoade.

He declared that the command would defend every part of Lagos by air, land, and sea by cooperating with other security organizations.

In addition, he pledged to examine the ongoing traffic around the state.

Lagos residents ought to enjoy their Christmas and New Year’s festivities and carry on with their regular activities.

“We’re going to offer impenetrable protection that will safeguard people and their belongings. Our patrol will be extremely efficient, and our personnel will be noticeable in all places, including entertainment centers. There will be no crimes throughout Christmas and New Year’s,” he promised.

Nonetheless, he praised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his steadfast dedication to and support of the state’s security and safety concerns.

He also expressed gratitude to the Acting CP, DCP Waheed Ayillara, and his predecessor, AIG Idowu Owohunwa, for maintaining and advancing the state’s preexisting security framework.

In Lagos, Fayoade vowed to uphold the values of justice and public safety with all of his heart.

He claims that ensuring the safety and security of the people of Lagos State is his unwavering commitment, as well as that of the officers and men of the Command.

This will be accomplished via strict and efficient law enforcement tactics, community involvement, and proactive, realistic policing. My goal is to establish a tranquil and law-abiding community where all Lagosians can live happy, fulfilling lives.

“Our goal is to be a police force that upholds law and order with the utmost professionalism and reliability, setting an example for others to follow.”

“Our goal is to establish a robust collaboration with community members, local organizations, and law enforcement agencies in order to promote a safe and secure atmosphere for everyone,” he declared.

The incoming Commissioner of Police stated that among other things, community involvement and crime prevention and reduction will be the cornerstones of his effective police agenda for Lagos.

Speaking about robbery/traffic robbery, abduction, and cultism, Fayoade stated that particular attention will be paid to these crimes because of their detrimental effects on society and its citizens.

He announced the creation of a specialized team comprised of skilled and equipped individuals who will collaborate closely with other law enforcement organizations to combat these offenses.

In an effort to deter future crimes, the head of police promised to work with the legal system to expedite the prosecution and conviction of offenders.

He promised that intelligence collection capacities would be bolstered and that susceptible locations, hotspots, and criminal organizations would be directly targeted in the war.

He declared that they would actively seek out lawbreakers and make sure that the officers occupied the public area.

It is important to remember that the crackdown on commercial motorcycle riders operating in forbidden zones, which has significantly decreased crime and accident reports, will continue and get stronger.

“Daily briefings on the degree of compliance in their respective areas of responsibility will be provided by Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders. He promised that additional steps will be taken to guarantee stringent, seamless, and orderly compliance.

Fayoade praised the newsmen for their coverage of events and stated that they were essential to a democratic society. He also emphasized that they would work transparently with the newsmen to effectively disseminate information about crime, safety precautions, and public awareness campaigns launched by law enforcement.

As the public’s eyes and ears, we will appreciate constructive criticism of our work in order to improve the State’s security framework.

“More dedicated lines will be launched for unrestricted accessibility and feedback on issues of community safety and security, and police accessibility to the press and members of the public will be given prominence,” he stated.

Regarding police accountability and professionalism, the chief of police emphasized his dedication to transparency, accountability, and professionalism, citing them as the two cornerstones on which the public’s confidence in law enforcement rests.
