CSCHEI secured accreditation, partnership, and signed MoU with United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland

Director General, Civil Society Organizations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative, CSCHEI led a team to the headquarters of United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR in Geneva, Switzerland to sign partnership agreement and MoU. While signing an MoU, the Director, Peace Division, UNITAR, Evariste Karambizi empathised that this is the first time UNITAR is signing a partnership agreement and MoU with Civil Society Organizations cordinating platform in Nigeria an he hope that the working relationships will be of advantage to Government, Civil Society Organizations, Non- Governmental Organizations working on Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Change Financing and Environments. Olivet Vandam, Senior manager representing United Nations Satellite Centre, confirmed that the agreement and MoU also cover their mandate.

 

Amb. Lawrence Boms, while responding, assured the UNITAR management that the partnership and MoU agreement will be taken seriously, most especially when the whole world is taking priority to Climate Change and Action Advocacy.

 

Director General, CSCHEI, Kunle Yusuff, MON presented the working documents officially to UNITAR and UNOSAT. He mentioned that CSCHEI is a cordinating platform that supervises, organises, mobilise, and promote Civil Society Organizations, Community Based organisations, and faith-based organisations within the scope of social development, Community enhancement and humanitarianism. He further emphasized that the working documents of CSCHEI align completely with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030.

 

The Director, Peace Division, UNITAR finally said he hoped that this MoU would open access to intervention grants on SDGe and climate projects and programmes financing.

 

In conclusion, Yusuff said this partnership and MoU agreement will definitely provide effective and efficient cordination between donor agencies, Development Partners Civil Society Organizations, Non- Governmental organizations, and Faith-Based Organisations.
