Dangote Cement Plc has stated that its cement pricing are comparable to or cheaper than those seen along the West African coast.

In addition, the company stated that, contrary to widespread media allegations, the price of a bag of cement from its Nigerian facilities had not increased.

The company had faced widespread criticism for the differential in the price of its cement in Nigeria compared to other West African countries.

According to a business statement, the price of Dangote Cement was N4,010 in Okpella on Monday, and N4,640 in Ibese, Objana, and Gboko.

According to the statement, pricing could range between N5,000 and N5,300 per bag, depending on transportation costs and delivery location.

The statement was provided in response to recent misinformation claiming the corporation supplied cement in Nigeria at much higher costs than other countries, including the Republic of Benin and other neighboring countries.

Mr Arvind Pathak, Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement, stated that it was critical to distinguish Dangote Cement’s ex-factory rates from the prices at which retailers sold cement in the market.

According to the company’s check in Cotonou, the commercial city of the Republic of Benin, cement sold for between CFA 3,495 and CFA 4,500 per bag, which, at the current conversion rate of CFA 1: NGN 1.43, is between N4,997 and N6,435 per bag.

“We continue to innovate new ways to deliver quality products to millions of our customers across Africa while providing excellent customer service,” Pathak said.

Dangote Cement is dedicated to creating an inclusive and sustainable business for all stakeholders along the value chain.”
