On Friday, February 11, 2024, in the evening, Showmax celebrated its much-anticipated relaunch in style at the Livespot Entertainment Center. Celebrities and fans flocked to the invitation-only event, which marked the launch of a new era for the streaming service with a redesigned product suite and app.

The rebranding of Showmax promises an immersive and affordable entertainment experience. The centerpiece of the new offering is Showmax Premier League, the first standalone Premier League plan in the world for mobile, which costs just N2,900. There are also two additional Showmax plans available: Showmax Entertainment mobile and Showmax Entertainment plan.

The occasion served as an exclusive preview of the recently acquired romantic comedy Dead Serious, which was directed by Moses Inwang and starred Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, better known as Sabinus, Sharon Ooja, Nkem Owoh, Lilian Afegbai, and numerous other actors. Friday, February 23, 2024, will mark the exclusive Showmax debut of Dead Serious.

Several of Nigeria’s most well-known entertainment figures graced the black carpet at the launch party, looking stylish. Aiyeola, Bisola, Kunle Remi, Uti Nwachukwu, Ruby Okezie, Hawa Magaji, Beauty Tukura, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Ego Boyo, and renowned filmmaker Tunde Kelani were among them.

The attendees turned heads and set trends with their A-game, sporting everything from sleek suits to gorgeous dresses. Numerous people chose the eye-catching shades of orange, black, and reddish-pink, which are similar to the new Showmax logo.

The most prominent hosts, Bolanle Olukanni and Hawa Magaji, stole the show with their exquisite ensembles. In a striking white ensemble, Faith Morey, the six-foot Amazon goddess of the Real Housewife of Lagos, made a statement, and Sabinus looked sharp, dressed outside of his go-to “blue shirt and tie.” Whoa, someone who was capable of both!
