The suspension and subsequent incarceration of Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, have finally been addressed by President Bola Tinubu.
Emefiele was suspended by Tinubu on June 9 to allow for an investigation into the accusations made against the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Emefiele was subsequently detained in Lagos State and sent there by the Department of State Services, where he is currently being questioned.
During a Friday interactive session with Nigerians living in France and other countries, Tinubu discussed the subject in general and said that Emefiele’s financial system was corrupt.
